A MARRIAGE OF CREATIVE INSTINCTS & A UNIQUE SITE

I started sculpting 60 plus years ago when I was 13 years old. My father wanted to help me cope with the loss of my mother to cancer when I was a little boy. He brought me some wax to sculpt and express the loss I felt deeply. Miraculously, this sparked a 50 year passion to create a wide variety of sculptures. I bought a ranch in Bolinas and built a large studio and foundry to cast in bronze. During that 30 year period my work was shown in New York and San Francisco; including the Museum of Modern Art, Tiffany, Cartier and the Vorpal Gallery.

In 2006 I bought a small vineyard on Glass Mountain in the St. Helena AVA. I planted a few additional acres and after selling Cabernet Sauvignon fruit for more than a decade it was time to make our own wine in 2019. Creating the layered aromas, flavors, and structures of wine are very similar to my sculpting process. The dynamic taste of our wine is akin to the experience of sculpture. Seiler Estate wine speaks of roundness, a rich texture, red-dark fruits, an unfolding and persistence not unlike walking around a sculpture that plays with light and shadow, evolving each time you pass round it.
